Driver Killed in San Diego Auto Accident

The driver of a Honda Civic died instantly when he drove his car into the median while traveling southbound on I-15 just before 4 a.m. May 13, 2012. At least one other person suffered serious injuries in this San Diego car accident.

According to the San Diego Union Tribune , the 32-year-old driver of the Honda swerved and hit the center divide. Three passengers were able to get out of the car, but the driver and the passenger in the front seat stayed in the car.

Shortly after the car hit the median and turned sideways on the freeway, another car smashed into it, killing the driver of the Honda Civic immediately and injuring the passenger that remained in the car. The 51-year-old driver of the second car, an Isuzu Rodeo, was taken to the hospital for serious injuries.

The three passengers that made it out of the car were taken to the hospital as a precaution. According to the reports, they didn’t seem to have serious injuries.

The names of the people involved in the car accident have not been released. Police are investigating the cause of the accident and the reason the driver swerved.
