The Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a recall of Cherry strollers made by iCandy World. The maker has recalled the buggy because of a risk of strangulation. A total of 830 strollers are being recalled.
An infant might wriggle through an opening between the bumper bar and the bottom of the seat, posing a danger of strangulation, according to the recall.
Buy Buy Baby and other retailers sold the strollers for $450 between October 2009 and December 2012. Only two types of strollers are being recalled:
- Fudge (light-medium brown)
- Liquorice (red and black)
A white cherry logo is on the rear of the seat. A label is under the basket fabric on the frame tubing.
The serial numbers of the baby buggies are:
- 1-500, fudge
- 501-1000, liquorice
- 1001-1500, liquorice
- 1501-2000, fudge
Consumer Reports designated the iCandy Cherry Stroller a “Don’t Buy” in December because of the safety risk. Persons who have the recalled strollers are told to remove the bumper bar and contact iCandy for a replacement at no cost. For a replacement, consumers can:
- Call 877-484-4179
- Go to icandyworld.com
- Email firstname.lastname@example.org
The CPSC also recently recalled two other products for babies and older children:
- Bugaboo Cameleon 3 stroller
- BabyHome Eat high chairs
The Bugaboo Cameleon3 strollers pose a risk of falling. Ten thousand strollers were recalled. The CPSC also recalled the Bugaboo Cameleon3 in January for the same reason. In February the commission also labeled the stroller a “Don’t Buy.” The high chairs pose a risk of strangulation. Its company recalled 1,100 of them.
